Stop controlling your emotions!

Stop controlling your emotions!

On the way to surpassing oneself, one sometimes seeks to achieve a goal that is not worth it.

Indeed, we want to have total control over our emotions ; we do everything to be happy and in a good mood under all circumstances, and we therefore believe that we must avoid being in a bad mood and that we must repress anger or other negative emotions.

But having such behavior is ultimately not very effective becauseemotions are ephemeral. We can not be happy all the time, just like we can not sleep all day, or sneeze continually.

Some people try to hide their negative emotions, so they compensate by eating poorly, taking drugs, watching television excessively, smoking, or spending their lives at work.

If this behavior is successful, it is only temporary, because even if they are buried, negative emotions still exist.

From all this is a very important detail: our genes continually remind us that we have things to settle. In fact, we feed on the need to control everything, even our feelings.

Where does the problem come from?

Try to fix an object of the gaze and move it to the sole strength of your mind. It's possible ? Even if you concentrate, you will not be able to move an object just by imagining yourself doing it.

There, you are probably wondering why to take this example? Simply because it can help you understand that your thoughts can only have an impact on reality if you turn them into action.

Even if you love someone very much, a relationship can only exist if you act, if you transpose your emotions into action.

Invisible beings can not physically affect you

Try to see your emotions as imaginary beings that harass you all the time, but are not able to affect you. It is important to understand and convince yourself that even if your emotions are there, they do not have the power to destroy you.

To suppress our emotions or not to want to see them is not to accept every facet of our personality, it is to deny a part of ourselves. It is better to feel your emotions, to identify them, to observe them, and to make sure that they do not take over. Once we understand that, we can successfully take advantage of each of our emotions.

For example, Sadness or anger are not fundamentally negative emotions, as they can help us be more creative and play more sports. So, we make sure that the "invisible beings" that are our emotions can be a source of inspiration in all the activities we do.

Fear, for example, can lead us to predict future events and thus be more suspicious when considering an activity as dangerous.

The great works of art have not been made in a catharsis situation. Music, for example, can only develop if one uses one's feelings to compose it, just as novels can only exist if the writer takes into account his emotions in order to understand his characters.

In other words, the artists are aware of their emotions and direct them to something positive, which allows them to obtain the fruit of their creation.

Everything you need to know about emotions

In short, controlling your emotions excessively or suppressing them is one of the biggest mistakes you can make on the path to personal development.

It is necessary at all costs that we avoid stifling our emotions, and that we understand that they are only transient. The best thing to do is to let them grow without interfering and cohabiting with them in a positive state of mind.

We must allow ourselves to feel our humanity, and the emotions that go with it. This is what the Greeks did, who understood Man in all its complexity and took into account all human emotions.

Getting to know oneself is an important part of the process. If we know how to react to certain situations, we are then able to anticipate our emotions and to coexist with them.

We allow ourselves without problems to experience certain feelings such as happiness, joy or enthusiasm because they give rise to a feeling of well-being. However, even other less pleasant feelings are also part of life and it is not good to hide them or to deny them.

It is, for example, difficult to achieve satisfaction, since for that you must first go through phases of frustration, anger or sadness.

However, once you feel the satisfaction, it can take a long time and thank you for having the courage and patience to go through various negative emotions to achieve a state of satisfaction.
